Tower 3 Commissioning Period

Cladding works continued and specialist scaffolding was hired in to provide safe access to the sides of the new building which stand above the roof of the existing building. The heavy rain hampered progress with these completion works but it proved to be more of a nuisance than a problem as it didn’t really interfere with plant throughput.

 

Operational matters
In mechanical terms the plant has settled into operations well with the only real problem being related to starting the auger for discharge when it hasn’t operated for two days. This is not a problem on the existing two towers and not related to the concrete construction, it appears to be related to the area where the auger emerges from the tower and the tolerances which could cause jamming are being investigated.
