Batch Control
24 hours a day - 7 days a week - 364 days a year
One of the more important features of the plant is its batch control system which allows traceability in relation to critical treatment parameters such as mass, moisture content and temperature profile. The batch system is the basis of the sampling and testing regime used to validate plant performance in relation to sanitation, plant emissions and the chemical characteristics of plant outputs.
Apart from the loading of wastes into the shredder and the changing of containers accepting process outputs the plant is fully automated.
This allows the plant to operate twenty four hours a day, seven days a week and, most importantly, provides a comprehensive plant performance logging system. Each one hundred and fifteen tonne batch of waste loaded into the plant is provided with an exclusive batch identification number against which a comprehensive record of temperatures measured throughout the whole six day process is maintained along with records of moisture content, water added and actual plant systems operation. The weights of the various segregated recyclate streams associated with each batch are also maintained and specifically the batch identity of the compost-like-output.
