Recyclables
Parc massively increases the amount of recycling done by a local authority or
business operating Parc. It is designed to work hand-in-hand with all types of kerbside collection and green waste collection.
All extraction of recyclate is done AFTER the waste has been processed by the tower. This makes the material easier to handle and meets animal byproducts legislation.
Parc extracts
Light plastic fraction recycling
The plastic bag fabric is sifted out of the waste mass. This is sold into the plastic extrusion market. The fabric is currently made into plastic planking and boarding for use in construction.
Glass and stone fragments
During the Parc process any glass is broken into small chips. The Parc process removes most sharp edges to the glass fragments. This chipped glass is fed into Premier's existing aggregates recycling business where it finds use in a variety of construction products.
Ferrous and non-ferrous metal
These streams are sold onto metal processors for re-melt into feedstock.
Biological waste
The composting process that occurs in the tower turns this fraction into a soil conditioner product (also known as compost like output: CLO). When it first emerges from the tower it is sterile and fibrous. Once matured in windrows it takes on a soil like structure and smell.
This conforms to the Environment Agency's CLEA standard for commercial and industrial use and meets Dutch soil standards for landscaping.
ParcGro
This is a new product made from the soil conditioner and a blend of compost from our garden waste recycling operation and soil from our aggregates recycling operation. ParcGro meets CLEA standard for residential use both with and without plant uptake, it also meets BS3882 standard for topsoil.
