Since beginning operation in 2002 Parc has seen great changes in the waste stream coming from houses and has been used to process the waste stream coming from food manufacturing and mixed waste from a supermarket chain.
To increase the volume of waste handled, you simply build more towers.
There are a number of options regading where towers are built:
Segregation plant
At the Thornley plant most of the recyclable seperation equipment is on site. This does not need to be the case. It might be more cost and carbon effective to have all the seperation equipment in a central location being fed by Parc towers placed closer to the place of waste production.
